Effects of different potassium application rates on growth, yield and quality of turnips

Abstract:Thelocalspeciesleaflessturnipswasusedasexperimentalmaterialandtheefectsofdiffrentpotassium applicationrates (0,5,10,15,20,25kg⋅667m-2)( onthegrowth,yield and qualityof turnips were investigated bymeasuringthe agronomic traits,yieldandquality indicators.Theresults showed that theapplication ofpotassium fertilizer could ffectively promotetherootgrowth,raise thefleshrootyield,improveeconomiceficiencyincrease thecontentof solublesugar,freeaminoacids,proteinandglucosinolates inthesuculentroot,reduce thecontentoftotalacidityand hardness.Compared with control (0kg⋅667m-2) ),thesingle root mass,yield and economic efficiency of turnipswith potassium application rate 15-20kg⋅667m-2 were increased by 12.06%-20.99% 6.31%-7.36% and 4.58%-4.98% ,respectively.The root length,root diameter,soluble sugar content and glucosinolates content were the highest in 15kg⋅667m-2 (204号 potassiumaplicationrate,andthehardness wasmoderate;thecontentoffreeaminoacid,proteinandtheeconomybenefit were the highest in 20kg⋅667m-2 potassium application rate.In conclusion, the optimal potassium application rate was 15-20kg⋅667m-2 for turnips production.
