anxi Jiaokong Taijiu Expressway Reconstruction and Expansion Project Co.,Ltd.,Taiyuan O306,Chin Abstract:To study the application performance of rubber particles in improving roadbedred clay,tests wereconductedon the compactioncharacteristics,shearstrength,compresioncoeficient,andpermeabilitycoeficientof improved roadbedredclay underdiferentrubberparticlesizeanddosageconditions.Theresultsshowed thatafteraddingfourdiferentparticlesizesof rubber particles,theoptimal moisturecontentshowedatrendoffirst increasingandthendecreasing withtheincreaseof rubber powdercontent;Astheamountofrubber powderincreases,theoverallshearstrength showsatrendoffirst increasing andthen decreasing;Astheparticlesizeofrubber powderincreases,theoverall shearstrength firstdecreasesandthenincreases;Each groupof rubberparticle modifiededclaybelongs tomediumcompresibilitysoil,andthecompressbilityofthesoil icreases withtheincreaseofmaterialcontent,andtheoverallpermeabilityalsosowsagraduallyincreasingtrend;Inaddition,asthe particlesizeofrbberparticlesgradually increass,thecompressioncoeffcientandpermeabilitycoeffientoftheimprovedred claygraduallydecrease.Theresearchresultsprovidereference fortheimprovementandresourcerecoveryofredclayforroad embankments in China.
