Analysis and considerations on the current situation of the veterinary licensing examinationin Anhui Province

AbstractThe current situation andunderlying causes of the veterinary licensing examination in Anhui Province from 2010 to 2O24 wereanalyzed，based onexaminationdata，andproposes targeted development recommendations. From 2010 to 2O24，the number of online applicants for the veterinary licensing examination in the study region climbed to 25 223，demonstrating a marked growth trend.The gender ratio of examinees decreased substantially from 5.96 in 2010 to1.09 in 2024，indicating a gradual trend toward balance.The number of participants holdinga master's degree increased by 125% ，reflecting a notable rise in the overall educational level.A marked increase in student participants and a diversification of their professional backgrounds were also observed.These changes were primarily atributed totheexpansionof thebreeding industry，growing pressure fordiseasepreventionand control，therapid growthof the pet healthcare market，evolving industry and market demands，and enhanced linkages between education and practice. Based on these findings，recommendations were proposed including strengthening examination services andresource supportbyoptimizing the distribution of test centers，establishing stableexamination bases，and implementing a“pre-payment+post-examinationrefund” mechanism; deepening the integration of continuing educationand career development by establishing a tiered andclassified continuing education system，innovating educational modelsand resource integration，and strengtheningsupervisionand efect evaluation;promoting the precise alignment of talentcultivation with industrial needsby refining university curricula，expanding practice scopes，and enhancing talent guidance.This studyaims toprovideinsights forpromoting theprofessionalizationand standardization of the veterinary industry.
