AbstractTo promote the application ofcontrolld-release fertilizers in flue-cured tobacco production，the nutrient releasemechanism of controled-release fertilizers，aswellas the current situation，existing problems and countermeasures of their application in flue-cured tobacco production were analyzed.The release mechanisms of nutrients mainlyinclude penetration mechanism and rupture mechanism.Factors such as coating raw materials，coating thickness，soil temperatureand soil moisturewillaffectthe duration ofnutrient release.Theapplication of controlledrelease fertilizerscanenhance the maturityof tobacco leaves，improve theagronomic traitsoftobacco plantsand their disease resistance，effectively control nutrient loss，and alleviate environmental problems such as soil polution and eutrophication of water bodies caused by excesive fertilizer application.When promoting and applying slow-release and controlled-release fertilizers in flue-cured tobaccoproduction，it is necessary topay closeatention to the stable performance of their effcacy，cost andpricefactors，aswellastheactual difficultyof marketpromotion. Countermeasures such as strengthening applied basic research，improving fertilizer eficacy，developing new types of coating materials，reducing product prices，establishing a corresponding fertilization technology system and increasing the promotion of technology can be adopted.This article provides a reference for the promotion and application of controlled-release fertilizers in flue-cured tobacco production.
