From Poetic Encoding to Public Understanding: A Pragmatist Approach to British Romantic Poetry

Abstract:The traditionaltoneof BritishRomanticpoetryisoftenconfinedtosubjectiveandsentimentalaestheticactivities. Fromapragmatic perspective,this paperatempts toelucidatetheaesthetictransformation mechanismtroughwhichRomantic poetry ascendsfromindividualemotiontopublicinterpretation.Poetsencodeprivateexperiencesintoshareableaestheticsymbolsthrough threedimensios:thespiritualiationofjects,theimageryofemotiosandthesymbolizationofoncepts.Byeativelyouct ingpoetictextsndleveragingintepretivefeibilityydcostrutradioalerentiallaioshs,fingdaork ofmeaningnegotiationwithinlinguisticcommunitis.Atthelevelofpublicinterpretation,thegeneratioofintersubjectivengotatio mechanisms notonlypreserves theauthorityof thereativesubjectbutalsotransformspoetryintoamediumforsocialemotionalexchange.Therefore,thevalueofBrishRomanticpoetryliesnotonlyiindividualexpresionbutalsoinitspoetictruth,whichpro videsanaestheticparadigmandpoeticpathwayforthedynamicshapingof meaningcommunitiesinthepracticeofpublicmeaning production.
