The Dilemmas and Reform Paths to Foreign Language Teacher Education in the Era of Artificial Intelligence

Abstract: In the era of artificial intellgence, intelligent achievements are continuously integrated into foreign language education, presenting both dilemmas and opportunities for foreign language teacher education.In pre-service training, there are issues such as the contradiction between curriculum designand teaching requirements,limitations in ability cultivation,and the impact on professional identity. In in-service development, challenges include knowledge updating,role transformation,and evaluation reform. To address these, this paper proposes the reform paths: In pre-service training, reconstruct the curiculum system,innovate ability cultivation,and strengthen professional identity. In in-service development, establish a learning support system,reshape the teacher’s role,and adapt to intelligent evaluation. Additionally, leverage intelligent technologies to achieve seamless integration between pre-service and in-service education,so as to promote the adaptation of foreign language teacher education to the development of the times and improve the quality of foreign language education.
