The Empirical Study and Empowerment Model Construction of University Foreign Language Teachers’ Professional Development in the Context of High-quality Development

Abstract: The high-quality development of education has raised higher demands for the professional development of university foreign language teachers. This study explores the challenges encountered by teachers in their professional development through a questionnaire survey of 816 university foreign language teachers. The key challenges identified include unclear professional development plans,a disconnect between teaching and research capabilities and the demands of the times,insufficient platform resources and support systems, weak digital literacy, and the dual constraint of competitive pressure and internal motivation. Based on these findings, this paper constructs a empowerment model for the professional development of university foreign language teachers,covering the structural,competency,and atitude dimensions,with the aim of providing insightsfor the professional development of teachers.
