Effects of growth mindset on grit in primary school senior students： the mediating role of self-effcacy

【Abstract】Objective To explore the impact of growth mindset on the grit of primary school students in higher grades，and to investigate the mediatingroleof self-effcacy.MethodsAsurveywasconductedon1118 studentsingrades4-6inFoshancityusing theGrowth MindsetScale，GritScale，andSelf-Eficacy Scale.Results Growth mindset and self-efficacy were significantly positively correlated with grit （ ，0.43;P<0.01），and growth mindset was significantly positively correlated with self-eficacy （r=0.41 P<0.01 ）.Self-efficacyplayedapartially mediating role between growth mindsetand grit，witha mediating efect value ofO.27，accounting for 49.1% of the total effect.ConclusionGrowth mindsetcandirectlyenhancethelevelof grit，andalsoindirectlyenhancethe level of grit by increasing self-efficacy.
