Effects of growth mindset on grit in primary school senior students: the mediating role of self-effcacy

【Abstract】Objective To explore the impact of growth mindset on the grit of primary school students in higher grades,and to investigate the mediatingroleof self-effcacy.MethodsAsurveywasconductedon1118 studentsingrades4-6inFoshancityusing theGrowth MindsetScale,GritScale,andSelf-Eficacy Scale.Results Growth mindset and self-efficacy were significantly positively correlated with grit ( ,0.43;P<0.01),and growth mindset was significantly positively correlated with self-eficacy (r=0.41 P<0.01 ).Self-efficacyplayedapartially mediating role between growth mindsetand grit,witha mediating efect value ofO.27,accounting for 49.1% of the total effect.ConclusionGrowth mindsetcandirectlyenhancethelevelof grit,andalsoindirectlyenhancethe level of grit by increasing self-efficacy.
