Effects of core self-evaluation on adaptation in high school students:the mediating role of coping style

【Abstract】Objective To explore the ralationship between core self-evaluation and adaptation in high school students,as well as the mediating role of coping style.MethodsA questionnairesurvey was conducted among 517high school students,which included the CoreSelf-Evaluation Scale (CSES),the Coping Style Scale (CSS)and the Adolescence Adjustment Scale.This survey examined the mediator effct of coping style between core self-evaluation (CSE)and adaptation in high schol students.ResultsA significant positive correlation was identified between the CSEand adaptation.Among thesix dimensions of coping style,CSE showeda significant positive correlation withthe strategy ofsolvethe problemandthe strategyof mood cognitionandadjustment.The two strategiesalso significantly positivelycorelated with adaption.IntherelationshipofCSEand high school students'adaptation,thestrategyof solvethe problemandthestrategyof moodcognitionandadjustmentshowed a partially mediating role.ConclusionHigh school students are directly influencedby CSE.High schol studentsare indirectly influenced through their choice of copingstyle.
