Abstract：This article introduces Professor CHEN Guangxing's clinical experience in treating refractory rheumatoidarthritis basedonthe perspectiveof deficiencyand blood stasis.Professor CHENGuangxingbelieves thatthe etiologyof refractoryrheumatoidarthritis isprimarilyduetothedeficiencyof the visceraandtheobstructionof phlegm and blood stasis inthecollaterals.The treatment is basedonthe principle oftonifying deficiencyand unblocking the collaterals，with a staged approach.Forcases where the obstruction of the sinewsandblood vessels is themain manifestation （excessyndrome），the focus is on resolving phlegm，removing blood stasis，and relieving pain by unblocking thecollaterals.Forcases where thedeficiency of theviscera is the main isse（deficiency syndrome），the focus isonregulating the viscera.In clinical practice，Professor CHEN has developed the Yishen Tongbi Decoction， which isused tosupplement the kidney，expel wind，andunblock thecolaterals，with additional syndrome differentiation and treatment.
