Abstract：Thisarticle introduces Profesor WU Shan's clinical experience in treating lumbar disc herniation（LDH）in the elderly based on precise massage.In the view of Professor WU Shan，the root etiology and pathogenesis ofLDHin the elderlyliein liver-kidneydeficiency，and biomechanical imbalanceof tendons and bones， and the main contributors include stumbling and exhaustion，and invasion of pathogenic wind-cold-damp into the meridias and colaterals.In clinical practice，he advocates precise massage，precise diagnosis to identify indications and contraindications for treatment，and Chinese herbal medicinals taken orallyand externall for precise treatment， which can renderfavorable clinical outcomes.
