Analysis of Medication Rules in Topical Chinese Patent Medicines for Traumatic Injuries Based on Data Mining Techniques

Abstract:Objective:To analyze the medication rules of topical Chinese patent medicines fortraumatic injuries registered with the National Medical Products Administration using data mining techniques.Methods:Topical Chinese patent medicines for traumatic injuries registered with the National Medical Products Administration(as of March 31, 2024)were selected.Excel 20l0 was used tocompile statistics on the frequencyof use,eficacy,fourqi,five flavors, and meridian entryof the included medicines.SPSS Modeler18.O was utilized for association rule analysis,Origin 2021 for clusteranalysis,and Cytoscape 3.10.1 for creating complex network diagrams.Results:A total of 102prescriptions for topical Chinese patent medicines were included,encompassng 33O medicines.The total frequency of use was 1393 times,with 34 medicines used11 times or more,including Bormeolum Syntheticum, Camphor and Angelicae Sinensis Radix.The four qi were predominantly warm,the five flavors were mainly pungent, bitter,and sweet,andthe meridian entries were primarily liver,spleen,heart,lung,and kidney.The strongest associationwas found between Olibanum and Myrha.Cluster analysis identified six categories of medicines,and complex network analysis revealed a strong triangular link among Borneolum Syntheticum (Natural),Camphor and LMenthol;strong links were also observed between Olibanumand Myrra,aswellas Carthami Flosand Angelicae Sinensis Radix.Conclusion:The prescriptions of topical Chinese patent medicines for traumatic injuries primarily focus onopening orifices and reviving the spirit,and promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis.The core medicines are those that enhance transdermal absorption and promote blood circulation to remove blood stasis.
