Abstract：This article summarizes and introduces the Qihuang Scholar，Professr WANG Xinzhi's clinical experience in treating insomnia with Huanglian Decoction.Profesor WANG Xinzhi believes that the main etiologyof insomnia in modern peoplearethe disharmonyof the viscera'scoldand heat and the imbalanceof yinandyang，which are closelyrelated tothe liver's failure to governthefreeflowofqi and the disharmonyof the spleenand stomach.The pathological locationisinthe heartandiscloselyrelatedtotheliver，spleen（stomach），and kidney.Thecore pathogenesis is theupper heatand lowercold andtheimbalanceof yinand yang.He advocatestreating insomnia fromthe perspective of the liver and spleen，with harmonizing coldand heat and balancing yin and yang as the basic therapeutic methods.Huanglian Decoction isselected as the main formula for flexible modificationand treatment，which can achieve good therapeutic effects.
