Abstract：SinceitspublcationinOGeKua'sCineVerseandProsehasaractedtheaetionofsomeresearers.yhave studiedandexpoundedontfromtheperspectivesofSinUSculturalexchangeandCineseasaforeiganguageteachinganddefied it atheearliestextbookforteachingChineseasafreignlanguagecompiledbya Chineseperson.Thisisindedaperceptiveview. However，researcershaveoverlookedaimportantfact：allhepomsintisorkwerewitenbyGeKunhuaandthentranslatedinto Englishbyhimself.Thecontentandformareveryuiqueandcompletelydiferentfromordnarytextbooks.Thisfeatureindicatesthat theworkisanadulteatedselftraslatedpetrycolectioandtearliestsuchcolletioniCnesetrasationstoryIsiicancecanotbeignoredTisarticlemeticlouslyexamins tecreationandtranslationprocssofthbook，desibesitsspcificcontentandinfluence，andproves thatpoetryself-translationinChinahadalreadyreachedaconsiderablesaleandfmedacolectionby the late 19th century. This has unique value and significance in translation history and deserves further study.
