Construction of Cultural Symbols of the Chinese Sportsmanship from the Perspective of Ethnic Identity

Abstract：This study systematically explores the construction of cultural symbols of the Chinese sportsmanship from the perspective ofethnicidentitybyusingresearchmethodsofliterature review，logicalanalysisandcase study.Itsuggests that thecultural symbolsof the Chinese sportsmanship refer to symboliccarriers thatuse specificand perceivable symbolic forms to carryand spread the connotation of the Chinese sportsmanship，with sixcharacteristics：symbolism，sharedness， nationality，iconicity，consensus and practicality.Thebasicconditions fortheconstructionof such cultural symbols include deeplyconsolidating theculturalcariersthatinheriteethniccollective struggle memories，typicallyextractingthecultural markers thatcarrytheethnicshared spiritual traits，dynamicallintegrating thecultural symbolsthatdisplaytheethnic multiplesymbiotic culture，and long-termconsolidating thecultural media that maintainthe ethnic profound emotional bonds.At present，the dilemmas of the construction of those symbols are thatthe vague core meaning ofthe symbols，the loose topological structure，thenarrowdecodingchannels，and the fragmentedcommunicationmedia.Accordingly，afourdimensionalconstruction path is proposed：refiningthecore elementsof symbols，building the symbolframework，creating the symbol interpretation space and building the symbol communication matrix.
