An Analysis of the Development Status, Existing Problems and Countermeasures of the Cherry Industry in Maiji District, Tianshui City

Abstract: To promote the high-quality development of the cherry industry in Maiji District and facilitate the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, the core issues existing in the district's cherry industry were systematically analyzed, including natural disaster prevention and control, cultivation models, quality standardization, and production costs, based on field investigations and literature analysis. The results show that the cherry industry in Maiji District is confronted with prominent problems such as inadequate disaster risk prevention and control (coverage rate of disaster prevention facilities less than 40%), structural imbalance in cultivation models (protected cultivation accounting for less than 10%), insufficient standardization of fruit quality (first-grade fruit rate only about 60%), and rigidly rising production costs [(per mu (667m2) labor cost exceeding 3,000 yuan]. In response to the above problems, targeted and operable optimization countermeasures are proposed from five dimensions, constructing a three-dimensional disaster prevention and control system, optimizing the layout of cultivation models, promoting the improvement of quality standardization, adopting multiple measures to optimize cost control, and strengthening policy and technical support. This study provides theoretical support and practical reference for the quality improvement, efficiency enhancement, and transformation and upgrading of the cherry industry in Maiji District.
