Causes and Integrated Control Measures of Valsa Canker in Apple Trees in the Weibei Fruit Region

Abstract： In response to the widespread occurrence of Valsa canker in Fuji apple trees in the Weibei region of Shaanxi， comprehensive surveys have been conducted in multiple locations in recent years. The main contributing factors and control strategies for this disease have been clarified. It is concluded that the fundamental approach for disease prevention lies in strengthening soil， fertilizer， and water management， enhancing tree vigor， and increasing orchard organic matter content. The implementation of integrated measures—including the “four fertilizers and one conditioning” full-nutrition technique， constructing an open canopy structure， regulating fruit load appropriately， and emphasizing integrated pest and disease management focused on Valsa canker—can effectively suppress the occurrence and spread of the disease.
