4.Sujiaoke Group Testing and Certification Co.， Ltd.，Nanjing 210019， China; 5.School of Architecture and Civil Engineering， Jiangsu University of Science and Technology， Zhenjiang 2121Oo，China） Abstract：Toanalyze the impactof gravel typeonthe mechanical propertiesofsoil-rock mixtures，amedium-sized triaxial testing system was employed toconduct sheartestsonsoil-rock mixtures.The study investigated the variations in strength and deformationcharacteristicsof twodiferent typesofsoil-rockmixturesatdiferentrockcontents.Theresearch indicatethatthe stress-straincurvesofthetwodferenttypes ofsoil-rock mixture specimensatvariousrockcontentsdonotexhibitadistinct peakandareof thehardening type.The peak strengthofboth typesofsoil-rock mixture specimens generallyincreases withthe riseinrockcontent，andunderthesameconditions，thepeak strengthof thesoil-angulargravelmixtureisgreaterthanthatofthesoil-pebblegravelmixture.Astherockcontent increases，thecohesionofthesoil-angular gravelmixturefirstdecreases andthenincreases，whilethecohesionof thesoil-pebble gravel mixture initiallydecreases，thenslightly increases，and subsequentlydecreasesagain.Theinternal frictionangleof both typesofsoil-rock mixturescontinuouslyincreases.The primaryreasonforthediferencesinmechanicalpropertiesbetweenthetwotypesofsoil-rockmixtures isthediferenttypesof contactbetweengravel particlesunderload.Theresearchresultscan provide areferencebasis forthe stabilityasessmentof soil - rock slopes.
