4.Sujiaoke Group Testing and Certification Co., Ltd.,Nanjing 210019, China; 5.School of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, Zhenjiang 2121Oo,China) Abstract:Toanalyze the impactof gravel typeonthe mechanical propertiesofsoil-rock mixtures,amedium-sized triaxial testing system was employed toconduct sheartestsonsoil-rock mixtures.The study investigated the variations in strength and deformationcharacteristicsof twodiferent typesofsoil-rockmixturesatdiferentrockcontents.Theresearch indicatethatthe stress-straincurvesofthetwodferenttypes ofsoil-rock mixture specimensatvariousrockcontentsdonotexhibitadistinct peakandareof thehardening type.The peak strengthofboth typesofsoil-rock mixture specimens generallyincreases withthe riseinrockcontent,andunderthesameconditions,thepeak strengthof thesoil-angulargravelmixtureisgreaterthanthatofthesoil-pebblegravelmixture.Astherockcontent increases,thecohesionofthesoil-angular gravelmixturefirstdecreases andthenincreases,whilethecohesionof thesoil-pebble gravel mixture initiallydecreases,thenslightly increases,and subsequentlydecreasesagain.Theinternal frictionangleof both typesofsoil-rock mixturescontinuouslyincreases.The primaryreasonforthediferencesinmechanicalpropertiesbetweenthetwotypesofsoil-rockmixtures isthediferenttypesof contactbetweengravel particlesunderload.Theresearchresultscan provide areferencebasis forthe stabilityasessmentof soil - rock slopes.
