Dynamic Mechanical Properties and Damage Model of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete

Abstract:Toinvestigatethedynamic mechanicalpropertiesanddamageconstitutivemodelofflyash-basedautoclavedaerated concrete(AAC),cylindrical specimens withvarying strength gradesanddrydensitieswere prepared.Axialcompresiontests wereconductedusingauniaxialcompresion testing machine atdiferentstrainrates.Theresults indicatethatthefailure modes of AC under various strainrates primarilyinvolvelongitudinal splitingandshearfailure.The mechanicalpropertiesofAACare closelyrelated tostrainrates:athigher strainrates,the peak stressincreases whilethepeak strain decreases,indicating enhanced material briteness.Additionally,theenergy dissipationcapacityofAAC improveswith increasing strainrates, demonstrating good energyabsorption characteristicsunder dynamic loading.Among the testedsamples,A5.OBO6 exhibited the highestenergydisipationcapacity,whileA3.5BO5showedthelowest.Thedamageconstitutivemodel basedon Weibul distributionefectively predictsthestress-trainrelationshipofAAC,withparticularlyhighagreement with experimentaldataat high strain rates.
