Effect of Basalt Fiber Mesh on Crack Resistance of Concrete Slabs

Department of Architectural Engineering,Shijiazhuang University of Applied Technology, Shijiazhuang O5O081,China) Abstract:Inorder tostudytheefectof basalt fiber webontheearlyagecrack resistanceofconcreteslab,therestrained shrinkagecracking testofconcreteslabwascariedout.Two kindsofconcreteslabswithdiferent mixproportionswere designed,andtwokindsofbasaltfiberwebswereselectedasanalysisparameterstoverifythecrackresistanceefectoffiber webs inconcrete slabs.Throughthecomparative analysisof thecrack distributionlaw,cracking area,maximum crack width, crackingtimeandshrinkagestrainoftheconcreteslab,theanti-crackingefectofthebasaltfibermeshreinforcedconcreteslab wasevaluated.Thetestresultsshowthattheconcreteslabcracks mainlyappearintheconstraintendandthecentralpart;the fibermesharrangementintheconcreteslabwillimproveitscrackresistance,andthecrackresistanceisbetteras themesh arrangement position is closeto the surfaceof the slab,and the cracking area ofthe plain concrete slabis reduced by 79.33% (204 compared with thatof heplainconcrete slab.Whenthe mesh isarrangedonthe surfaceof theconcreteslab,thecrackingarea of the specimen with fiber mesh is reduced by 13.14% , 39.17% and 53.92% respectively compared with the specimen with steel wire mesh.Thearrangement offiber netonthesurfaceofconcrete slabcaneffectivelyreduce theshrinkage strain nside the slab.The research results can provide experimental data support for the engineering applicationof basalt fiber web.
