Abstract Objective To optimize the operational procedures for continuous blood purification in children, reduce unplanned termination of treatment, and ensure the safety of pediatric patients.MethodsThe Healthcare Failure Mode and Efect Analysis (HFMEA)was utilized to review theoperational procedures for continuous blood purification in children.Hazardand decision tree analyses were conducted to identify critical failure modes, analyze rootcauses, and formulate targeted improvement plans.ResultsThe rate of unplanned termination of continuous blood purification in children decreased from 44.6% to 13.0% . The hazard scores for critical failure modes in the improved operational procedures were all lower than those before improvement. ConclusionThe use of HFMEA can effectively optimize the operational procedures forcontinuous blood purificationinchildren, improve the eficacyof blood purification, and ensure the safety of pediatric patients.
