Analysis of Volatile Oils from Different Medicinal Parts of Murraya exotica L.by GC-MS

Abstract:ObjectiveToanalzethediferencesinchemicalcomponentsinthevolatileoilfromleaves,Twigs,andoldbranches ofMurrayexoticaLMetodThevolatileoilsfromvariousmedicinalpartsofMurraexoticaL.wereextractedusingsteamdistillation,andtheirchemicalcomponentswereanalyzedandidentifiedbyGC-MS.Result3Ocomponentswereidentifiedfromhevolatile oil of leaves,among which the ones with higher content were α- Zingiberene (18.77% ),β-caryophyllene(13.88 % ),α- Bergamotene (10.37% ),etc;32 components were identified from the volatile oil of twigs,among which the ones with higher content include α- Zingiberene (22.83% ), β - caryophyllene ( 12.1% ),etc;19 components were identified from the volatile oil of old branches,amongwhich the ones with higher content include Spathulenol( 15% ),Caryophyllene oxide (3.48% ),cis-Vaccenic acid (3.23% ),etc.Conclusion Thechemical composition similarity between the leaves and twigs of Murrya exotic L.is high, whilethechemicalcomposionoftevolatileilintheoldbranchsdiferssignificantlyfromthatintheothertwomedicinalparts. This result can provide a scientific basis for the development and utilization of Murraya exotica L..
