[Abstract]Objective：To investigate the therapeutic efect of acupoint application combined with pulsed electromagnetic field （PEMF）inthe treatment of osteoporosis （OP）inthe elderly.Method： Atotal of9O elderlyOP patientsadmitted to Nanchang Hongdu Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from July 2O22 to April 2024 were randomly divided into three groupsby random number table method， namely group A（ n =30）， group B （ n =30），and group C （ n =30）. Group A received conventional treatment， on this basis， group B received PEMF treatment， group C received acupoint application combined with PEMF treatment，the treatment course lasted for 3 months.Before and after treatment，the pain levels （VAS score），traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores， hip and L1-4 bone mineral density （BMD），and bone metabolism indicators [osteocalcin （OST）， β -collagen degradation products （ β -CTX）， total type I colagen amino terminal extended peptide （PINP）] were compared among the three groups. Result： After treatment，the VAS scores and traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores of the three groups decreased，and those of group C were lower than those of group A and group B，those of group B were lower than those of group A 中 P <0.05）.Aftertreatment，the BMDof thehip and L1-4 in the three groups increased， those of group C were higher than those of group A and group B，and those of group B were higher than those of group A （ P- <0.05）.Aftertreatment， the levels of OST， β -CTX，and PINP decreased in allthree groups，those of group C were lower than those of group A and group B，and those of group B were lower than those of group A （ P <0.05）. Conclusion： Acupoint application combined with PEMFcan reduce pain，allviate symptoms，improve BMD，and improve bone metabolism indicators in elderly patients with osteoporosis.
