Comparative Study on Performance of Single-point and Dual-point Laser Fusion Algorithms in Road Longitudinal Profile Detection

Abstract:To correct the error caused by the change of vehicle attitude,this paper compares and studies the performance of single-pointanddual-pointlaser fusionalgorithms inroadlongitudinalprofiledetection.Thesingle-pointlaseralgorithm combinesIMUdata tocompensatefor thepitchangle,utitissusceptibletoveiclevibration,whichleadstoeroraccuulation. Thedual-pointlaseralgorithmutilizes frontandrearlasersensors tocalculatethecompensationangleinreal tme,effctively corrects vehicle tilt,and improves measurement accuracy. Experiments show that the RMSE ( 0.0048m ,MAE 0.0036m) and maximum error 0.0158m )of the dual-laser algorithm are significantly beter than those of the single-point laser algorithm (withareduction ofover 70% ).Power spectrumanalysis verifies the frequency domainstabilityof the dual-laser algorithm,and therepeatabilitytestshowsthatitslongitudinalprofilemorphologyanddetailsarehighlyreproducible.Theresearchindicates thatthedual-laseralgrithmpoessesgreateradvantages inprecisionandanti-terference,andissuitableforigprecision pavement detection.
