Abstract:Inorder to provide stableand reliable clock signal with lower power consumption,an ultra-low power looped oscilltorwithpower-onreset (POR)andbrown-outdetection(BOD)isproposed.Thisdesignconsistsoftwocircuits:thelowstatic-curentPORcircuitcangeneratevoltagereferencebasedontheintrinsicMOStransistor,releasethereset signalafter detecting thechangeofpowersuplyvoltage,andcutoffmostofthecircuitaftertheresetsignalisreleased,whichcagreatly reducethequiescentcurrent.Intheoscilltorcircuit,thethree-stageringoscilatorstructure isapplied,whichhassimple startingcondition,lowcurrentconsumption,andisconnectedwithaninvertertoincreasethedrivingability.ThePORcircuit caninputresetsignaltothefollowingringosciator,whichoperaestheoscillaorwithintedesignedvolagerange,andtains a stable oscilation signal with a small area and power consumption.The simulation results based on 0.13μm CMOS process showthatthequiescentcurrentof thePORpartofthecircuit isabout26.6nAatvoltageofO.6V,theoverallcircuit power consumption is about 82nW ,and the silicon area is occupied by 57.7μm×37.8μm :
