The Influence of Professional Values on College Students’ Entrepreneurial Intention ： An Empirical Study Based on a Survey of University Students

Abstract：Based on the framework of the Theory of Planned Behavior （TPB），this study explores the intrinsic relationships among vocational Higher vocational colege students’ work values，major identity，and entrepreneurial intentions， providing evidence to effectively promote employment-oriented and entrepreneurship education in vocational colleges.A questionnaire will be sent to 690 vocational college students from two vocational collges using the convenience sampling method for a survey，The mediation effect of professonal identity was tested using SPSS 26.O software，and visualized the complex relationships among variable dimensions using R 4.2.2 software.The results show that： ① Work values positively predicted Higher vocational college students’ entrepreneurial intentions. ② Major identity mediated the effect of work values on entrepreneurial intentions. ③ The network analysis revealed that the normative and moral dimensions of professional values，along with the easy and stable dimensions， could ihibit the formation of entrepreneurial intentions by influencing the goal intention dimension. Among all dimensions，the family maintenance dimension exhibited the strongest connection strength. ④ Practical dilemmas in entrepreneurship primarily manifested as financial，competency，and environmental barriers.These findings provide a theoretical foundation for educational interventions at both individual and practical levels，as well as for home-school collaboration，offering actionable pathways to address entrepreneurship challenges among vocational college students.
