Network Embedding of Returning Entrepreneurs ： Types， Evolution， and Impact

Abstract：The entrepreneurial activities of returning migrants are embedded in social relationship networks，and the phenomenon of network embedding is a multi-dimensional and dynamically evolving process.Based on the theory of network embedding，this study systematically combed through the relevant research on the network embedding of returning migrant entrepreneurs. The results show that： The types of network embedding of returning migrant entrepreneurs can be classified within the binary framework of“geography-nature". Based on the geographical scope，it can be divided into local networks and external networks，and based on the nature of the network，it can be divided into networks of relatives and friends， business networks，and political networks. The process of network embedding of returning migrant entrepreneurs presents obvious characteristics of dynamic evolution，from“single network dependence in the start-up period”to“multi-network interaction in the survival period”and then to“multi-network integration in the growth period".Network embedding affects the performance of returning migrant entrepreneurship through five paths， namely resource acquisition，knowledge transfer，market expansion，innovation-driven development，and risk bufering. Future research can further focus on the deep driving factors of the dynamic evolution of network embedding，explore the optimization paths of the interaction of multiple networks in the digital era，and provide more accurate theoretical support for improving the quality and sustainability of returning migrant entrepreneurship.
