Abstract:Toexplore the efects of exogenous melatoninonthe growthand fruit qualityof pepper plants insolar greenhouses during the overwintering season,this studyused pepper Huamei 1O5asthe experimental materialand sprayed wateras the control(CK).Different concentrations( 50μmol/L , 100μmol/L , 150μmol/L , 200μmol/L )of melatonin solution were sprayed on the leaves at 10d , 16d 22d ,28d and 34 d after flowering.The growth parameters,photosynthetic characteristics andfruitqualityindicatorsof pepperplants atdiferentstages afterflowering were measured.Theresultsshowed that 100μmol/L melatonin treatment could significantly increase the photosynthetic pigment content of pepper leaves,enhance the activityofCalvincycle-related enzymesand photosyntheticcapacity,promote plant growth,ndimprove pepperyieldandfruit quality.The free aminoacidcontent,soluble proteincontent,vitamin Ccontent,solublesugarcontentandhardnesof peppe fruitstreatedwith100 ∣μmol/L melatonin were significantly higher than those of the CK,while the nitrate content of fruitswas significantly lower than that of the CK.In summary,foliar spraying ofdifferent concentrations ofmelatonin solution can increase pepper yield and improve fruit quality. Among them, 100μmol/L melatonin solution treatment has the best effect on pepper yield and fruit quality.
