Abstract：Thetraditionallicenseplateecognitionsystemadoptsamulti-stepprocessngmethodwhichispronetoaccuulating erorsandreducingrecognitionacuracyTheYOLOmodelisadeeplearningobjectdetectionalgorithmthatintegratesobject localization，imagesgmentationndcogitionintoauifidframeworkuilingonvoluioaleuraletworkstocheeast andaccuratedetectionofimagetargets.ThispaperproposesusingtheYOLOv8modeltodesignanautomaticlicenseplate recognitionsystem，introducestherelevanttechnologies，systemanalysis，anddesigninthelicenseplaterecognitionproesand experimentallyverifiesthesystemfunctionsthroughmodeltraining.Thetestresultsshowthatthesuccessrateoflicensplate recognition has achieved the expected effect.
