Abstract: Intelligent manufacturing is the next development direction of automated manufacturing. Under the intelligent manufacturing environment, in order to make our country into a first-class manufacturing power, a large number of complex, innovative and practical engineering talents are needed to support the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, and support the national strategy of "Made in China 2025", However, from the perspective of the traditional education mode of mechanical majors in colleges and universities, there are some problems, which are mainly reflected in the disconnection between the professional education system and the development needs of social industry, the aging of course teaching methods, and the imperfect talent training mechanism. It is also necessary for mechanical majors in colleges and universities to innovate and optimize the teaching content and teaching methods in a timely manner, and adjust the teaching direction according to the job needs. With professional excellence as the core evaluation elements of talent training, students are encouraged to grow more comprehensively and more deeply, and can quickly adapt to the needs of the post after entering the vocational post. This paper has carried out a comprehensive study on this, and on the basis of referring to the relevant literature, further clarified some measures for the reform of the traditional mechanical major in colleges and universities for reference.
