[Abstract]Orthodontic treatment isan effective intervention forthe correction of malocclusion，contributig to improvedmasticatory functionand facialaesthetics.However，thepresenceoforthodonticappliancescanimpedeoral hygiene practicesandelevate theriskofdentalcaries，gingivitis，and periodontal disease.Oralirigators，anoveladjunctive oralhygiene tool，havegained popularityamongorthodonticpatients.This reviewsummarizestheworkingprinciplesand clinical pplicationoforal iigators，examines theuniqueoral hygienechallenges faced byorthodontic patients，and evaluatestheefficacyoforaliigators inthispopulation.Aditionalyfuturedirectionsforthirusearediscussd.Evidence suggests thatoral irigators，which employpulsating water streams todisrupt plaquebiofilms，areeectiveinreducing plaqueaccumulationandareparticularlybeneficialinareasthataredificult toacesswith traditionalinterdentalbrushes and dental floss.
