[Abstract]Ectopic enamel isatypeof abnormal dental development，whichcanbedivided into twocategories： enamel pearls adcervical enamel projections.The formation of ectopic enamelmay be related to ameloblasts in the Hertwig's epithelialrootsheathand Malassezepithelialrest.Mechanicalandgeneticfactors mayalsoplayaroleintheformationof ectopic enamel.Radiographic examinationcan ientifyectopic enamel，assess itscondition，and guide clinical diagnosis andtreatment.Thisarticlereviewstheclinicalcharacteristics，formationmechanisms，diagnosis，andtreatmentstrategies of ectopic enamel to provide references and a clinical basis for its diagnosis and treatment.
