Abstract： The water filling method tank capacity test is an important method for accurately measuring the volume of each liquid cargo tank in the marine field.The accuracy of its measurement results is directly related to ship stability calculation，deadweight measurement，and stowage safety.This paper systematically analyzes the factors causing errors during the water flling method tank capacity test，and proposes specificand feasible preventive measures for these factors to improve theprecision and reliabilityof the tank capacity test，whichcan be referenced by relevant engineering and technical personnel.
