Study on Root Cutting Propagation Technology and Adaptability of Robinia pseudoacacia

Abstract In order to master the root cuting propagation technology of Robinia pseudoacacia ,by using the coarse roots of the 2-year-old excellent parent tree of this tree species,the cuting seedling experiment in nutrient bags was caried out with different types of rooting agents,different massfractions,and different soaking durations.The results showed that Robinia pseudoacacia was easy to root when propagated by root cuttings. Rooting began 18 days after cutting,andno terminal buds formed at theupper endof thecuttings.From 22 to 25daysafter cuting,terminal buds germinated and new shoots started to grow. The optimal treatment combination was soaking in a 100mg⋅ (204号 (2 L-1 naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) solution for 2 hours,which showed the best performance in rooting quantity,average root length,and rooting rate among alltreatments.This tree species can be transplanted in the same year as cuting in Zhangye,with rapid seedling growth,demonstrating excellent fast-growing characteristics and adaptability.
