Response of Seedling Regeneration of Two Haloxylon ammodendron Species in Minqin to Soil Moisture and Nutrients

Abstract Taking natural Haloxylon ammodendron forestlandand artificial Haloxylon ammodendron forest land on the edge of Minqin oasis as the research objects,the numberof regeneration seedlings of two kinds of Haloxylon ammodendron forest lands was investigated by transect method. At the same time,soil samples of 0-90cm soil layer in the sample plot were colected.The variation characteristics and correlation ofsoil moisture,electrical conductivity,soil organic mater,total nitrogen (N)and available phosphorus (P)were compared and analyzed,and the relationship between seedling regeneration and soil factors in two kinds of Haloxylon ammodendron forest lands was discussed. The results showed as the following two aspects.1) Good soil moisture was conducive to the regeneration of Haloxylonammodendron seedlings.The number of seedlings in natural Haloxylonammodendron forest land was significantly higher than that in artificial Haloxylonammodendron forest land. Soil conductivityand soil (204 pH in the forest land also affected the regeneration of Haloxylon ammodendron seedlings. 2)The roots of Haloxylon ammodendron regeneration seedlings mainly grew in the soil layer of 0-30cm deep,and the utilization and consumptionof nutrients were small. Soilorganic mater,total N,andavailable Phad litle efecton theregeneration of natural andartificial Haloxylonammodendron seedlings. Good water condition is a prerequisitefor the regeneration of Haloxylon ammodendron.The high salt massfractionin shallow soil is not conducive to the regenerationof Haloxylon ammodendron seedlings,and the seedling regeneration stage is less affected by soil nutrients.
