A study on the realization of moral function of college English course based on narrativemedicine

Abstract:Amidtheongoing reform of medical educationand thenational agendaof integrating ideological and moral education,fostering humanistic literacyinmedical students hasbecomeanurgentpedagogical imperative.Thispaper exploreshownarativemedicine,asatheoreticalandpracticalframework,canbeefectively embedded intocollgeEnglish courses in medical universities to realize their moralandethical educational functions.Byreviewing theorigins and internationaldevelopmentofnarrative medicine,thestudyemphasizes tspotential tocultivateempathy,ethicalreasoning, andreflectivecapacityin futurephysicians.Itproposes amulti-dimensional pedagogical model that incorporates close readingof medicalliteratureworks,reflective writing,analysisof doctor-patient dialogues,andthe integrationof civic andmoraldiscourse withinlanguage instruction.This interdisciplinaryapproachredefines theroleofcollge English from alanguage-skilscourse toakeyplatform foradvancing medical profesionalism and humanisticcompetence.The study fillsa significantresearch gapandofers practical insights for curiculum inovation in medical humanities education.
