A study on the realization of moral function of college English course based on narrativemedicine

Abstract：Amidtheongoing reform of medical educationand thenational agendaof integrating ideological and moral education，fostering humanistic literacyinmedical students hasbecomeanurgentpedagogical imperative.Thispaper exploreshownarativemedicine，asatheoreticalandpracticalframework，canbeefectively embedded intocollgeEnglish courses in medical universities to realize their moralandethical educational functions.Byreviewing theorigins and internationaldevelopmentofnarrative medicine，thestudyemphasizes tspotential tocultivateempathy，ethicalreasoning， andreflectivecapacityin futurephysicians.Itproposes amulti-dimensional pedagogical model that incorporates close readingof medicalliteratureworks，reflective writing，analysisof doctor-patient dialogues，andthe integrationof civic andmoraldiscourse withinlanguage instruction.This interdisciplinaryapproachredefines theroleofcollge English from alanguage-skilscourse toakeyplatform foradvancing medical profesionalism and humanisticcompetence.The study fillsa significantresearch gapandofers practical insights for curiculum inovation in medical humanities education.
