Abstract:Protein succinylationmodificationisan emerging post-translational modification(PTM)method.Itregulates keybiological metabolic pathways byaltering theactivityor stabilityof metabolic enzymes andthereaction process of substrates.This PTMiswidely involvedintheregulationof biochemical metabolic processessuchas energy metabolism, carbohydrate metabolism,lipid metabolism,andaminoacid metabolism,and afects celllar processs such as cel proliferationandapoptosis.Therefore,proteinsuccinylationmodificationisnotonlyanimportantbridgeconnectingcellular metabolismandcellularfunctions,butalsooneof theimportant factors influencing metabolicregulationandtheoccurrence anddevelopmentof diseases.Thelatestresearchshowsthatproteinsuccinylationmodification iscloselyrelatedtothe occurrenceanddevelopmentofsome metabolicdiseasessuch as diabetes andcancer.This articlereviewsthelatestresearch progress of protein succinylation modification in cellular metabolic processes and related diseases.
