Meta-analysisofthe effectofmusictherapy intervention in children undergoing surgery

Abstract： Objective：To systematicallevaluate the intervention effect of music therapyonchildren undergoing surgery. Methods：Computerized searches were conducted for randomized controled trial（RCT）on the efects of music therapy interventionsinchildrenundergoing surgeryinninedatabases，including China nationalknowledge infrastructureand PubMed，fromthtimeofonstructiontoAprilO24.Literaturewasindependentlysreened，dataextractedandicluded inthemethodologicalqualityassessmentofthestudiesbytwograduatenursingstudentsaccording tothenerfcriteria，and Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan5.3software.Results：A total of14studies were included，witha total sample sizeof1220cases.Meta-analysis showedthat，music therapyaleviated anxiety[SMD=-1.47，95%CI（-2.31， -0.63）， P<0.05Φ- and fear MD=-1.23 ，95% CI（-2.25，-0.21），P=0.02]，in children undergoing surgery，and reducedpain[SMD=-0.28，95% CI（-0.45，-0.10） ，P<0.05]，heartrate[MD=-1.82，95%CI（-3.58，-0.06）， P=0.04]，systolic[MD=-6.38，95%CI（-11.88，-0.88），P=0.02]anddiastolicblood pressure[MD=-4.61，95% CI （-9.11，-0.12），P=O.04].In terms of increasing children's oxygensaturationof[MD=-0.05，95% CI（ -0.22 ， 0.11），P=0.53]anddecreasingchildren'srespiration[MD=-1.24，95%CI（-3.46，0.99），P=0.28]，withnostatistical significance.Conclusion：Existing evidence indicates thatmusic therapy can improve the negative emotions and pain levelsof childrenundergoingsurgery，reducethefluctuations in heartrateandblood pressreduring theoperation.Due tothelimitationsofthequantityandqualityoftheincluded studies，furtherverificationis neededthroughlarge-sample， high-qualityrandomized controlled studies.
