Application effect of multimodal monitoring in facial nerve protection in acoustic neuroma surgery

Abstract：Objective：Toexploretheaplicationefectofmultimodal monitoring infacialnerveprotection inacoustic neuroma（AN）surgery.Methods：A totalof90 patients with AN treated byoperation inGanzhouPeople's Hospital from May2021 toMay2O24were divided intoobservationgroup（withmultimodal monitoring）andcontrol group（without multimodal monitoring）according to whether multimodal monitoring wasadopted or not，with 45 cases in each group. Thegeneraldata，surgicalrelatedindexes，anatomicalpreservationandfunctionofthefacialnerveandpostoperativeadverse events werecomparedbetween thetwo groups.Results：There was nostatisticallysignificantdiference inage，sex，tumor location，course of disease，tumor size and ASA grade between the two groups（ P>0.05 ）.The operation time in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group （ P<0.05 ）. There was no statistically significant difference in intraoperative blood loss and tumor resection between the two groups （ P>0.05 ）.There was no statistically significant difference in the anatomical retention rate of the facial nerve between the two groups（ P>0.05 ）.The retention rate of the facialnervefunctionintheobservationgroupwashigherthanthatinthecontrolgroup2weeksand3monthsafteroperation （ P<0.05 ）.The total incidence of postoperative adverse events in the observation group was lower than that in the control group （ P<0.05 ）.Conclusion：Multimodal monitoring assisted AN operation can shorten the operation time，protect the facial nerve function of patients and reduce the occurrence of postoperative adverse events to some extent.
