AbstractThe research progress on the responses of plant leaf functional traits to environmental factors such as climaticfactors (light,temperature,humidity),soilfactors,andtopographic factors(altitude,slopedirection,slope position,andslope)wasreviewed.In terms ofclimaticfactors,diferent lightconditionscan leadto significant diffrences inleaffunctional traitssuch asleaflifespan,specific leaf area,and leaf size among plants.Therelationship between leaf functional traitsand temperature varies among diferent forest stands.The water transport capacity and hydraulic structure characteristics of leaves affct the water use eficiency,growth,competition and distribution of plants.Factors suchasprecipitationand soilhumiditycontentcan lead todiverse diferences inleaffunctional traits such as leaf size,specific leaf areaandvein density among diffrent plants.In terms of soil factors,the responses of plantleaffunctionaltraits todiferentsoilfactorsarediffrent.Intermsoftopographicfactors,theresponsemechanism of leaf functional traits toaltitude isdiffrent indifferent developmental stagesof different plants.Theslopedirection forms alocal environmental gradient byregulating factors suchas lightand temperature,resulting indiferences inleaf functional traitssuchas leaf area andspecific leaf areaamong diferent plants.Theutilization strategiesof plant resources on different slopes are diffrent,and thereare differences in the performance trends of leaf functional traits such as leaf dry matter content and specific leaf area among different plants on different slopes.The functional traitsof plantleaves varywith different slopes.This article provides areferenceforclarifying the response mechanismof plant leaf functional traits to the environment.
