Abstract:Waterjetcanbeusedforhardrockbreaking,butitsefectisdifcultobeaccuratelycharacteried.Inthis study,a pressurized pulsed water jet testing set-up was developed toconduct granite crushing experiments,anda macro characterization method was proposed to evaluate thejet rock breaking efect using a Poissn disk sampling technique.3D scanning was carried outon the granite specimen after hedge erosion to obtain the point cloud dataof the erosion pits,andthe the point cloud data were reconstructed through the Poisson disk sampling technique.The fited surfacedepth value wastaken as the macro characterization parameter,and theinfluenceof jet pressureandtarget distanceonrock breaking efect wasanalyzed.The effctof jetpressureandtarget distanceon verticalrock breaking at fixed pointsby presurized pulsed jetunder non-submergedconditionwasanalyzed,andtheeffectofrock breaking energyparameters underjet pressure-frequencycoupling wasrevealed.Theresultsshowthatthe 3D scanning techniquecan achieve accurate and quantitative characterizationof therock breaking efectonamacroscopic scale,andthePoissondisk sampling methodcansolvetheproblemoflargediscretizationof the macroscopiccharacterizationresults.The jetpressureandthereciprocating frequencyof the piston have acouplingeffect,withthe increaseof the totalinput pressure,thejet pressreandthereciprocating frequencyofthepiston increase simultaneously,andthehigh frequency impact of the high presure pulse jetcanresult inajump increaseof the jet rock breaking parameters.The method proposed inthis study is notonlyapplicable topresurized pulsed waterjets,butcan also beextended toother jetapplications,facilitating acurateanalysisof the impactof jet parameters onrock breaking and their further optimization.
