Investigation and Value Study of Cultural Resources at Penglai Cunliji Site and Burial Complex

Abstract：Penglai Cunliji Siteand Cemetery Complex isasignificant Zhou Dynastyheritage intheJiaodongregion，designated asaNationalKeyCulturalRelicsProtectionUnitin2O13.LocatedinthesouthwestofPenglaiDistrict，YantaiCityhandong Province，thesiteisnestledbetweenMountAitothenorthandMountGutothesouthwiththeHuangshuiRiverflowingthroughits center，formingauniquegeogaphicalpaterof"mountainsandwaters".Thecitysite，shapedlikeanL（曲尺形），featuresacomplex internallayoutandcoversanareaofapproximately457OOOsquaremeters.Thecemeterycomplexincludesthreemajorburialzones： Liugezhuang，Xinwangji，andZhanmazhangjiayeldingpreciousartifactssuchaspoteryronzeware，jdeandstoneatifactsnd boneobjects.AsararesignificantheritagesiteinYantaiandthebroaderJiaodongregionthatencompassesbothacitysiteand cemeterycomplexes，itholdsimmensearchaeologicalvaluehisstudysystematicallreviewsarchaeologicalexcavationsandsuveys conductedbetwen1976and2O17，integratinganalysesoftecitysstructurallayout，cemeterycontents，andunearthedartifactst reveal its unique historical， scientific，artistic，and social values.
