ABSTRACT: In this study,four Japonica varieties including Wumijing(C1),Wuyujing 3R(C2),Wuyunjing 24(C3), and Huaidao 5(C4)were selected to explore the effectsof the grainquality under four nitrogen rates including 360(A1), 240(A2),120(A3)and 0(A4) kg⋅hm-2 as well as three planting density including 375 OOo (B1),30O O00(B2) and 225 000(B3)plants·hm-2 in two years. The results showed that the milled rice rate of A3 was significantly higher than thatof Aland A4,which indicated that appropriate nitrogen application was beneficial tothe improvement of milled rice rate.In general,withtheincreaseofnitrogenapplication,theproteincontentofallvarietiesofmilledricewassignificant lyincreased,whilethechalkinessgrain percentageandchalkinessdegreedecreasedsignificantlywiththe increaseof nitro gen application. Compared with dense planting,sparse planting was beneficial to improve processing quality and appearance quality,and the efectof planting densityonthe protein contentof milled rice was relativelysmall.Overall,A3B3 combinedcultivation conditions can significantlyimprove thequalityof ricein this experiment.Our results canprovidea referenceforscientific nitrogen fertilizer aplication and reasonable planting density for high efficiencyand high quality cultivation of late maturity japonica varieties.
