Abstract:Asamajor global sourceofcarbonemisions,thelow-carbon transformationof thesteel industry isof crucial significance for achieving the "dual carbon" goals (carbon peaking and carbon neutrality).This paper takes voestalpine’s greentec steel strategyas theresearchobject,and explores the path options forlow-carbon transition of traditional iron andsteel enterprises byanalyzing its specific practices in technological breakthroughs,product innovation,and industrial chaincolaboration.Theresearch finds that voestalpine hasbuilt a transition model with bothenvironmentalbenefitsand economicfeasibility through the technicalrouteof paralel hydrogen-basedreduction and electricarc furnace transformation,scenario-basedlow-carbonproduct innovation,andcross-industry industrial chain collboration.This practice provides valuable experiences of gradual substitution,value capture mechanism,and ecosystemconstructionfortheglobalironandsteelindustry,andofersimportantinsightsforpromoting thesustainable development of high-carbon manufacturing industries.
