Abstract：Different from the aesthetics of leisureand entertainment tourism，the aesthetics ofdark tourism isa special proposition in tourism aesthetics.Bycomparing with the aestheticsof traditional leisure and entertainment tourism，this paperanalyzes the aesthetic characteristics ofdark tourism，and reveals itsaesthetic essence and connotation.The analysis resultsof the aesthetic mechanismof dark tourism show thatin the processof tourists’dark tourism aesthetic experience，the demand for spiritual experience is thelogical starting point，thereconstructionof personalityspirit is the motivation，aesthetic atention generates stimulation，emotional transfer serves as the path，and gestalt psychology leads to e- motional resonance.Eventually，tourists achieve emotional balance with dark tourism scenes and complete the dark tourism aesthetic experience. Theconclusions aredrawnas follows：aesthetic experience is the essenceof alltourism，and dark tourism aesthetics can meet tourists’needs for higher-level aesthetic experience;the experience of dark tourismaesthetics reflects thecomplex cultural connotations triggered by tourismaesthetic activities in the contemporary era;dark tourism aesthetics brings impactsand reflections ontheaesthetic standards and values of traditionalleisure and entertainment tourism.
