Abstract:Amidst the procesof China’s modernization, the Tibetan villges are undergoing a dual transformation in both geographical and spiritual dimensions. The Tibetan poet Norbu Namgyal’s poetry collction,The Le'a ICan Write About is Becoming Lessand Less, responds to this shift by employing poetic forms toconstructa“new rural" imagination and narrative of the Tibetanlandscape. Drawing upon Henri Lefebvre's theoryof the production of space, this paper posits thatLe'a,oncean“absolute space”oftraditional agrarian civilization, was characterizedbyits sacredness, stability, andfixity. However, with the interventionof modernity, theproductive, social, and ecological structuresofLe'ahave rapidlytransformed, leading tothe gradual dissolutionof the traditional subjectivityof the“absolute villge.”Under the influenceof digitalizationand marketization, the“absolute”natureofLe'ais being continuouslyreshaped,as its internal life order yields to external aesthetic demands for“coordinated”and“spectacularized”landscapes.Inthiscontext,Norbu Namgyal constructs a“represented vilage”on paper, reclaiming the sacred sceneryand collctive memory of his hometownthrough poetry.By turning Le'ainto a portable spiritual home, the representational space in his poetry not only sustains ethnic and local culturalidentities butalsoconstitutes aform of resistance against the homogenized spaces of modernity.
