Abstract: International sports events serve as a crucial platform for projecting national images.Currently,the communicationmodelofsports events isevolving toward multi-dimensionaland highlyimmersive forms,with the Harbin Asian Winter Games pionering new practices in this domain.From the perspective of empathy theory, this study analyzes the intrinsic connection between empathic communication and sports,as well as the multidimensional manifestations of empathic communication in the Harbin Asian Winter Games,such as through volunteers, mascots,and the opening ceremony. The paper distills the contemporary value of this empathic communication,including the sublimation from a sports gala tocultural confidence,national integrationand global dialogue mediated by sports, and the upgrading of the ice and snow industry driven by emotional resonance. Furthermore,it proposes innovative paths for future empathic communication in international sports events: in termsofnarrativeinovation,shapingemotionalbonds throughsports stories fromdiverseperspectives;incontent

focus,condensingevent cultural symbols to lead the emotional agenda; and in technological upgrading, establishingethicaland emotionalconnectionswithin intelligent communication.By prioritizing empathic communicationasthecoreoftheeventcommunication strategy and conducting systematic, forward-looking planning,this study aims to fostera more compelling and dialogic Chinesecommunication paradigmwithin thecompetitivelandscapeofinternational sports
