Abstract： The Chinese team achieved ful-subevent participation and its best-ever results at the Beijing 2022 Games，yetthere remains acertain gap between ’s speed skating and that of the world’sice powerhouses.By adoptingresearch methods suchas literature review，statisticaldata analysis and case study，this paperconducts an in-depthanalysisofthecompetitionresultsof individual events in international speed skating during the 2024- 2025 season. The findings reveal that the Netherlands continuesto maintain its dominant position in the sport; countrieslikeNorwayhaveachieved remarkableresults withtheirdifferentiatedcompetitive strategies;Japan has emerged as a strong contender in middle and shortdistance events;and the intensity of global competition isset to further intensify in the future. 's speed skatingteamcurrentlyranksinthethirdechelon globally：it shows insufficient competitiveness in short

distanceeventsand sufers from structural deficiencies inlong-distance events，though thehistorical disparities— with men’s performance lagging behind women's and middle-distance events being relatively weak—have been alleviated to some extent. Compared with world champions， Chinese athletes see the gap in lap speed widen from the second laponward in short-distance events;in middle-distance events，the lap speed gap is substantial and fluctuates significantly;and female athletes in long-distanceevents face prominent chalenges regarding endurance and speed stability.Based on these findings，the paper puts forward the following suggestions： formulating a longterm national-level special development plan and increasing resource investment to meet the needs of training， scientific research and competitions; strengthening multi-dimensional scientific research on speed skating and establishing personalized champion development models; promoting the coordinated development of all speed skating events，advancing theinstitutionalizationofsports-educationintegration，andthussustaining thelong-term high-quality development of 'sspeed skating program.
