High quality and high yield cultivation techniques for garlic

AbstractThis article summarized thecultivation techniques forhigh qualityand high yield garlic from aspects such as varietyselection,plotselection,land preparationandfertilization,andtimelyplanting.According todierent production purposes,suitable superior varieties should be selected.For example,varieties like Lunong Garlic can be chosen forgarlicproduction,while varieties likeErshuizao canbeselectedfor garlic shoots production.Chooseland that is loose,fertile,well-drainedand well-irrgated.Itis not advisable torotate with crops suchasonions and leeks.The optimal time for garlic sowing is from mid-to-late September toearly October.Before planting,the seeds should be soaked.Adequatebase fertilizershouldbeapplied.Theplanting depth shouldbe3to5cm.When the garlic seedlings emerge,promptly remove the filmand transplant the seedlings3 to5days later. During the growth period,waterand fertilizeappropriately,and strengthen the prevention of diseases,pests andweeds.The garlic sprouts shouldbe harvested40 to 45days aftertheystarttodiferentiate.Afterthe garlic sproutsare harvested,thegarlicbulbs should be promptly harvested when the temperature rises to 26∘C and the plants show mature characteristics.This article provides a reference for the scientific cultivation of garlic.
