Abstract：【Objective]Pine wood nematode（Bursaphelenchus xylophilus）typically live in dark environmentsandare extremelysensitivetolight，exhibitingastrongavoidanceresponse.Bystudyingtheinhibitory efectsunderdierentlight conditions on their population growth，key mechanisms of how light affects the growth of B .xylophiluspopulationscanbe revealed.Thisresearchalsoaims toelucidatetheunderlying mechanisms that inhibitpopulationgrowth，layingasolid foundation forfuture opticaland basicbiological studies on pine wood nematodes andproviding newperspectives for their control.【Method】Five light wavelengths（clours） -i green，yellow，red，white and blue—were employed to investigate theeffctsofvariouslightconditionsonthenematodepopulation.Additionally，theeffectsofdiferentbluelight intensitieson egg hatching rate，sex ratio，body length，andembryonic development were further explored.【Result】 Blue light exhibited the strongest inhibitory effect on B . xylophilus，significantly suppressing population growth.Further researchontheeffectsof different bluelight intensitiesonreproductivebehaviorshowedthatwhen the lightintensityis below 1 000lx ，blue light has no significant efect onreproduction.However，when the intensity increased to1 25O lx， comparedtothecontrolgroup，the numberofofspring，egghatchingrate，，developmental speed，and individual sizeof the nematodes significantlydecreased.Aditionally，thereare notablechanges inthe male-to-femalesexratio.【Conclusion】In summary，bluelightatintensitiesabove1Oolxsignificantlyihibitstheegghatchingrate，developmentalprogress，and adult body size of B. ，xylophilus.Asan important environmental and physical factor，blue light can influence microbial life cyeles，morphological changes，and gene expresion，therebyregulating itsphysiologicaland metabolic processes.
